Description
HLDID is drawn from the original data and may be used to match MTUS data back to the original survey.
In samples where more than one household member completed a diary, HLDID uniquely identifies households, but not individuals. In surveys where only one person per household completed a diary, HLDID is the original value in the data. When no household identifier is included in the original data, HLDID=0

Comparability
HLDID is drawn directly from the original data except in cases where the original data do not include a household identifier. In the case where there is no original identifier and there are multiple diaries per household, MTUS has constructed a household identifier.
